We all have our own Trials

Putting the Toilet Paper roll on the dispenser is Chris'

(it's hilarious, yet drives me & my OCD a little bit crazy)
*however, I am lucky-he doesn't get much more complicated than this.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Once I like something, I can't stop!

I go through phases, phases that consist of me being obsessed with something SO MUCH, I over-do it. Once the phase ends, I move to something else! Here are a few of my current phase-favorites!

CUPCAKES
(mostly red velvet with cream cheese frosting)
Sprinkles cupcakes are VERY YUMMY! They are famous for their fabulous taste & simplicity. You can buy Sprinkles cupcake mixes here! (a titch pricier than your average cake mix) I have made one of these mixes about every other week!

SpInAcH SaLaDs!
All I need is a light dressing (tangerine or white balsamic being my current favs) some candied nuts, avocado, & some fruit! DIVINE!

DIOR MASCARA

Fabulous lashes. End of story. I can't go back (thanks a lot Ammon!)

Betsey Johnson

She is one of my favorite designers. Her crazy, outrageous, over the top, yet chic & feminine style rocks. It somehow all comes together as GENIUS! (excuse me while I day dream about being a fashion designer...)

FEATHERS!
They are SO fun to play with & create with..oh & to wear :)
(i'm actually not into "crafts" although all signs point that direction)

Chris Dancing
He has the most hilarious moves, it makes me laugh so hard.

Renting Movies
(mainly tv seasons)

This show..it makes me cry

Fresh Flowers
in my apartment!
Any kind any color.. I just like having them in my house.

TJ'sThose of you who don't have a Trader Joe's, I am sad for you. I never had one growing up, but let me tell you I am making up for lost time! Cheap, yummy, locally grown, fresh, Organic...ahhhh I especially love their juice, hummus & lavendar dryer bags!

Sew What?
Although I am not great (i enjoy acting like I am) I enjoy learning & creating! This year I am branching out-no more drapes, aprons, or playing it safe...CLOTHES are in store for 2009! If they aren't completely horrible, Ill post pics..so..don't plan on any pic! (lol!)

MUSIC!

Ms. Lily Allen
PARAMORE
Rihana

I love all kinds of music. In fact, one could say I am passionate about it! Lately I have really been into Rihana (great to work out to), Lily Allen, and Paramore.

Seeing Cute Kids Be Cute
there are so many, I could post for hours if I wanted to include them all, if your kid isn't on here don't worry, i am SURE i think they are cute :)

Fuimos Al Getty

This past weekend Chris & I had the chance to go to the famous Getty Museum here in LA with two of our favorite people in the world, Kevin & Lindsey! We have always wanted to go to the Getty, so when asked to go we jumped right on it!
For those of you who haven't been to this museum, you definitely should. It's gorgeous & enormous! The work inside it is beautiful & amazing. We didn't even see half of it! We are definitely planning a trip to go back & finish it. Just for fun, you should google the Getty family & find out just how rich they are! The Getty is huge & build on PRIME real estate! The views are gorgeous. Oh, and a little food for thought: the security guard told us that he is paid on the INTEREST of the Getty trust- the principal hasn't even been touched after all these years & after all they have built & spent & lived off of...they are still living on the interest!
After the museum, we went to Santa Monica for dinner & desert. So many fun things to do in LA! We love it!

Chris took some photos of a few of the paintings & sculptures from the 1600's & earlier level.
This photo was amazing, it looks like an acutal photograph, not a painting. Its so incredible how talented artists are.

Chris apparently thought this was worth capturing on camera..

The bottom floor of the 1600s & before was my favorite! It was filled with old furniture from King Loius 14th & 16th palace at Versailles & more. The craftsmanship back then is hard to comprehend! How did they create such beautiful work without any of the tools that we use today? I love how much character & history each piece had. It made furniture of today feel like it had no personality..
I had Chris take pictures of me & my future pieces for our house.
You can't tell from ths photo, but this chandelier is all crystal..GORGEOUS!
Also, please note the walls & the flooring..all of this was kept & preserved.

Ahhhhh. The most inspiring piece of all!
My COUCH! You think I am kidding, but I am seriously going to copy this! Give it a modern twist & lose the pink & BAM! FAB couch! I mean, look at the size of the the main cushion! And how deep it is! Serious comfort. I know this was their bed, but THIS will be my couch!
Isn't it beautiful?

I truly love this bed. Its so Cinderella.
Oh dear sweet joy... can you imagine such a slumber?
I desperately need drapes that thick to shut out ALL light & sleep undisturbed
in my feather-bed cocoon.
And how fun would it be to sleep in something this amazing?
Ya, you'd feel pretty important.
Although we'd have to extend it, if you notice its only
about 5ft long..my we have grown over the years!

The view from the Getty over the city of Santa Monica & the ocean.
We got there right at Sunset, so beautiful!

2008 was Great!

I know we've all said it, but HOLY COW is it REALLY 2009? Time flies! 2008 was a busy & fun year for Chris & I. Here is our year in review...
Chris completed his 2nd year at SC, I learned to sew & used it as a creative outlet...
(Headbands you say?!)

We lived apart for 3 1/2months--yes, married but in two different residences...only seeing each other on weekends (doesn't sound too horrible but it was AWFUL!) But Chris did get a job offer so it was all worth it.

We spent SO much time at the beach this year more than ever before (yay!)
We ate at fabulous restaurants, went to fancy firm functions, and learned that we truly do LOVE O.C.

Britney & Keith tied the knot (hurray!)
I was able to visit UT for a week in June. Chris & I also visited UT together for 4 days in Aug. Chris golfed, fished, & saw a moose (close enough he could probably take 4 steps & touch it!). My dad got a HOLE IN ONE!

We rode bikes, ran races, and I did my FIRST PUSH UP!
We played in Newport with the Spiker clan.

I spent about $4500 on fixing my teeth, yuck!
My sister had her 3rd child, Lily. My brother & his wife got pregnant with #2!

We lounged at Lake Nacimiento. Chris wakeboarded & cliff jumped & applied more sunscreen then the entire family combined!

We celebrated our 2nd Anniversary.

I went to NY for a week with my sister & had THE TIME OF MY LIFE visiting my brother & Carlo.

Chris turned 26, I turned 23.

We rented every tv season possible: Ugly Betty, Weeds, Dexter, 24, etc. etc.
I fell in love with Edward all summer long:) (Twilight). Chris read 1984.
We worked, whether it be for school or for a lawyer, or for EM or headbands or even assisting at Organic Kitchen cooking classes.

I had a fabulous photographer offer to take pics of my headbands for Free! They also are being carried in the Plaza Hotel Warren Tricomi Salon in Manhattan!

We celebrated Thanksgiving in UT (so fun!) and Christmas in CA (so fun!) I shopped in Santa Barbara, Chris went to a UFC fight in Vegas. We rang in the New Year with a kiss & some serious laughs! (Court & Josh know what we mean!)

Oh and our Amazing friend Ashley gave us some GREAT news! ;)

We fought, we laughed, we cried, we sang, we danced, we played, we wished, we received, we gave, we loved. I cleaned ;)
It was a great year! We are looking forward to 2009! So much is ahead! Going to AZ to see my mom's side of the family & to see my Grandma Christensen (she is my hero). Law School graduation, moving to OC, finding a new job(for me), starting a new job(for him). Carver Family Reunion, Hawaii vacation, the BAR Exam, running my first half marathon, learning something new (last year was sewing this year I am still deciding), and going BACK to school(for me). Yikes! And hopefully a baby in 2010..but I'm still working on Chris ;)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

They call me Harry, Harry POTTER

That's right, we went to a pottery class!
This is my little bowl. I am the next Michelangelo!

Poor Courtney's bowl broke twice so she had to make a plateMy finished product! The art studio paints them, so in a week we will get the completed project!

Court & Josh
Having fun
For Steve's birthday the Spiker clan went down to Venice to take a Peach Tree Pottery class. This cute little art studio was hard core, our instructor even said "Im a Potter, not a Magician!"
We had a fun time, making our bowls & playing with clay! I am so glad I got to go, I have never done this before & I had so much fun! I love doing new things.
